Ubiquiti has released the latest version 1.0.10 of its UniFi Play PowerAmp software. The update focuses on performance optimizations, bug fixes and an improved user interface. This release is the third in a series of updates that have significantly enhanced the PowerAmp since its launch. With the UniFi Play PowerAmp, Ubiquiti offers an alternative to traditional audio amplifiers such as the Sonos Amp, which can be particularly well integrated into enterprise and smart home networks.

New functions in version 1.0.10

Version 1.0.10 brings some important new features and improvements:

  • Improved audio performance: The focus is on optimized audio processing and improved network stability. This reduces delays and dropouts during playback.
  • Bug fixes: Several bugs that affected connection problems and audio dropouts have been fixed.
  • Compatibility enhancements: The update improves support for various streaming services and hardware devices.
  • More user-friendly interface: The app interface has been further optimized to make the control of multiroom setups and audio sources even more intuitive.

Previous updates: Versions 1.0.9 and 1.0.8

Version 1.0.10 builds on improvements introduced in the two previous updates.

  • Version 1.0.9 brought significant stability improvements for multiroom audio setups. In addition, connection problems with certain networks that led to failures have been fixed. The app integration has also been revised to make it easier to control the volume in larger audio networks.
  • Version 1.0.8 laid the foundation for many of the improvements that were further optimized in later versions. The update introduced the first version of multi-room support, enabled a more stable connection to Ubiquiti access points and extended compatibility with third-party audio devices. It also fixed a critical bug that caused audio delays when the PowerAmp was used in large networks.

UniFi PowerAmp compared to the Sonos Amp

The UniFi Play PowerAmp is a direct competitor to the Sonos Amp and offers deeper integration into networks, which is particularly attractive for tech-savvy users and companies. Both devices have their strengths: While the Sonos Amp is best known for its user-friendly app and easy setup, the PowerAmp scores with stronger network and IT integration, which fits ideally into existing UniFi infrastructures.

In the comparison article Unifi PowerAMP vs Sonos AMP, it becomes clear that the UniFi PowerAmp is a powerful alternative, especially for users in the UniFi ecosystem. Its robust network functions and flexibility in the choice of audio sources make it particularly interesting in larger network environments.

With the new version 1.0.10, Ubiquiti has significantly improved its audio platform. The continuous updates – especially the stability and compatibility improvements in versions 1.0.8, 1.0.9 and now 1.0.10 – show that Ubiquiti is responding to user feedback and consistently driving the development of the UniFi Play PowerAmp. For users already working in the UniFi ecosystem or looking for a flexible and powerful multi-room audio solution, the latest update is an important step forward.
